What a beautiful quilt show we all just experienced!  Lillian Hollabaugh (booth assistant) and I graciously thank you for all of your support of us and our Rio Grande Quilt Guild booth.  We had a lot of fun and appreciate your donations, volunteered time, the beautiful quilted work we displayed for some of you, and your moral support.  We were a busy booth at the show!  Five new members joined our guild during the show.

I am very pleased to report the winners of the beautiful raffle baskets awarded both Saturday and Sunday.  Our Saturday winner was Viola Martinez from San Benito.  She is a member of the Har-Benito Quilting Bee and has made some beautiful quilts.  I'm sure we'll be seeing more from her basket winnings!  Our Sunday winner was Danitza McCauley, past guild member of Houston (and daughter-in-law of our guild member, Polly McCauley).  She is a beginner quilter and loves the art!  Both of these ladies are extremely excited about their winnings.

The value of each basket was over $200.00 made up from donated items of quilting supplies such as fat quarters, thread, patterns, projects, rulers, books, etc.  What a basket to win! And how much fun it is to know that our show chairman, Barbara Thompson drew tickets each day at show closing of someone you personally know!  Congratulations ladies!

Respectfully Submitted, Laura Wilson - RGV Quilt Guild Booth Committee Leader
