September came alive for the Rio Grande Quilt Guild when the New England Smile of Carol Doak  entered the room.   Jolly and full of spirit, Carol soon had us all ready and willing to learn.   Two full days of class in BRIGHT STARS from her newest book brought about many smiles on the faces of all students who discovered they could do paper piecing and enjoy it. Classes appeared to be a success.    With 16 books to her credit, Carol shared with us her journey into quilting and a bit of the life she has spent in Quilting.  We were blessed to have her here.

The next workshop will be in December with Debbie Maddy. We will be doing the Carpenter's wheel and using her method for a quick style of doing the Lone Star technique.  Sign up will begin in October at the meeting.  Details on workshop are not yet in.
