Decorations for the 2009 Quilt Show:

With the theme of the quilt show I thought it would be appropriate to have a Kaleidoscope quilt block and the pattern I found was at the Quilter's Cache for a paper pieced block. I like her idea of combining four 6 1/2" blocks to make a 12 1/2" unfinished block. Like the previous years you get a chance to win a set of the blocks at the following guild meeting. There's no set colors so the sky's the limit for that. The two colors blocks are pretty or  use a fussy cut with fabric representing things important in your life. If you don't paper piece you could use the pieces as templates.  I believe there's also a method of using the pattern without sewing through the paper and just using a crease as a sewing guide.
After seeing the Kaleidoscope quilts Patti Hempen showed at the April guild meeting I'd like to open my criteria to include any stack and whack type Kaleidoscope. So if you have any leftovers from completed quilts that are 12 1/2" they will be accepted. If you like you can also enlarge one of the 6 1/2" blocks to make one 12 1/2" block. Also don't forget to use a safety pin to attach your name to your square.
I'm looking forward to seeing the results.
