2010 Kerrville Retreat
****Photos****

What a wonderful retreat we had a Kerrville this year! So many door prizes, so much detailed planning. Make a note on your calendar for next year to come to this wonderful retreat!

Most of us made many stops at the shops that either opened up just for us or extended their hours. Most of them had discounts and sales in our honor. They were all very generous in donating door prizes.

We were all greeted at 5 pm by our hosts Karyn and Bev with name tags, keys to our rooms and information on our classes for the next three days. We had a great evening supper and immediately unpacked and met in a classroom with our orphan blocks.

Each day was filled with classes and wonderful instructors. The lunch hour was one of eat fast so we can shop before we have to return to class!

Again this year we were treated to the beautiful grounds and the serene deer walking around the property.

The hat contest was filled with goofy hats, gorgeous hats and very interesting hats. After they were judged, some of the contestants drove to the local ice cream parlor with their hats adorned upon their heads. (Talk about turning other patron’s heads!)

The last night we shared our creations with everyone. Many ooohs and ahhh’s were heard as each class was called up.

A special thank you goes out to Karyn and Bev for the fantastic job they did putting on this retreat. Thank you to all their helpers and everyone that made this event a success!

The comradely was felt at every turn during this meet and it is so apparent that quilters are the most friendly and helpful people in the world!

The last morning they had yet another drawing. This one was for the quilts made from the orphan blocks. What wonderful creations were made from scattered blocks. The winners were all smiles as they claimed the prizes!  We were then turned loose to find our way back to the valley…but guess what?????? We also found MORE quilt shops to visit and a wonderful place to have lunch in Castorville.  What will next year’s Retreat bring?……we will hope to see you all there to find out.
