Guild members donate miniatures and small wall-hangings to the guild every year. These are then auctioned off at the annual Rio Grande Valley Quilt Show.
The miniatures and small wall-hangings are displayed at the January guild meeting. Guild members vote on their favorite one. Prizes are awarded for the three most popular ones, $100 for first, $75 for second and $50 for third.
The miniature or small wall-hanging must be smaller than 96" (24" x 24") when all sides are added together. All methods and techniques are permitted. They must be donated to the Guild. The piece needs a label with the name of quilt, the maker and the year. The quilt doesn't need a sleeve for the show, but it would be courteous to the buyers to provide a sleeve or other method of hanging the quilt.
The Rio Grande Valley Quilt Show uses the donated miniatures and small wall-hangings for a silent auction. Last year the silent auction turned in over $1,000 to the quilt show.
Please help us beat last years proceeds. They are fun to make.
